Biography
Mr. Kahrl has over two decades of diverse experience representing banks, technology companies, entrepreneurs and employees in commercial, real estate and employment matters. Mr. Kahrl was a founding partner of the national law firm Maurice Wutscher LLP, where he served as lead counsel for the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy estate in various loan repurchase matters against originators of subprime loans during the financial crisis. In addition to his extensive representation of banking entities and fintech companies, Mr. Kahrl has also represented individuals, small businesses, and foreign companies in employment, personal injury, contract, landlord-tenant, invasion of privacy and family law matters. He served as General Counsel for the national blockchain company Global Debt Registry, and previously managed litigation nationwide for the mortgage registry system, MERS.
Mr. Kahrl has been a frequent lecturer at the Institute for U.S. Law in Washington, D.C. and at numerous regulatory compliance conferences, and has represented his clients before various federal agencies, and in meetings with over half of the state Attorneys General across the United States. Mr. Kahrl is a creative problem-solver, and has the unique experience of having appeared in a multitude of mediation and arbitration matters as outside counsel and as in-house counsel. He is keenly aware of the cost considerations, business disruption concerns and potential litigation outcomes that must be considered in alternative dispute resolution. Mr. Kahrl received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and his B.A. summa cum laude from UCLA. He is licensed to practice in New York, New Jersey, Maryland and D.C., and has appeared in matters throughout the country.
