Biography
Mr. Cure has been a full-time arbitrator and mediator since 2010, concentrating mostly in Labor and Employment matters. He has over 35 years of experience Labor and Employment Law and is a member of National Academy of Arbitrators, serves as FINRA mediator, and a member of the New Jersey Public Employment Relations Commissions (PERC) Interest Arbitration Panel. He has been trained in mediation techniques sponsored by the following groups: Association of the Bar of the City of New York, New York State Bar Association; The Scheinman Institute affiliated with Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations. Additionally, Mr. Cure has trained multiple employment mediators for the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. Mr. Cure resolves disputes that may arise under collective bargaining agreements individual employment contracts, and in the securities industry. He has also taught a “Labor and Employment Arbitration” course for the Fall 2012 and Spring 2014 semesters at St. John’s University School of Law.
Aside from AMANDA ADR Services, Mr. Cure is also a member of the following panels: Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service; American Arbitration Association’s Labor Panel & Employment Panel; New Jersey Public Employment Relations Commission; New York State Public Employment Relations Board’s Public and Private Sector Panels; New York City Office of Collective Bargaining Arbitration Panel; New Jersey State Mediation Board’s Labor Panel; National Mediation Board’s Roster of Arbitrators; New York State Education Department’s 3020-a Panel; Commercial Mediation Panels of New York State Supreme Court in New York, Westchester, Nassau and Queens Counties. He has a Certificate in Employment Law Mediation Training, Scheinman Institute on Conflict Resolution, Cornell University, ILR School.
Mr. Cure has been published multiple times, he wrote “Labor Arbitration v Employment Arbitration” Brooklyn Barrister, vol 63, No. 9, June 2011 and was a co-author for the Employment Law Handbook for Non-Lawyers with the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, August 2006. He has spoken on a number of panels devoted to labor and employment law issues. Mr. Cure received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, his M.S. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and his B.A. from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
