Biography
Raymond Mariani is a career litigator with over 30 years of experience, including first seat trial attorney for jury and bench trials in New York, California, Texas and Illinois. Ray trained at the Harvard Law School Program on Negotiation. He is a member of the mediation panels for the U.S. District Court, Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the New York Supreme Court, Westchester County Commercial Division where he has successfully mediated cases involving torts, labor and employment, civil rights, and contract matters. He has been involved as an advocate in mediations in more than half the states in the country. Ray brings to mediations a combination of his national perspective on reaching settlements as an advocate and his local experience as a mediator for two decades in the New York courts.
Ray’s three decades of litigation work has focused on torts and contracts, with an emphasis on aviation. In that field, he has been involved in virtually every aspect of litigation and risk management, including: airline mass disasters; general aviation accidents; MRO and OEM representation in product liability cases; military helicopter losses; towing, taxi and airport accidents; cargo theft; toxic exposure; fuel spills; fire and other safety issues; governmental regulation and immunity; sales and service agreements; IATA and other standard industry contracts; engine warranties; insurance, indemnity and additional insured coverage. He also holds an FAA License for Remote Pilot for Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
