Terrance Nolan

Biography

Mr. Nolan has served in several legal and labor relations positions with New York University since 1980. Currently General Counsel and Secretary, Mr. Nolan principally represents the University in collective bargaining negotiations and arbitration, involving diverse employee groups. He has also represented the University as counsel in numerous administrative and civil litigation matters, primarily in Labor and Employment. Mr. Nolan is a certified mediator for the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, on the arbitration panel of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, a member of the Board of the Center for Labor and Employment Law at New York University School of Law and former Co-Chair of the Section on Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution for NACUA. He is also a Chair-qualified member of the arbitration panel of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Mr. Nolan has the experience to understand how to achieve the most equitable resolution in employment and commercial disputes, and how to arrive at the resolution in a time and cost-efficient manner.

Mr. Nolan further has experience as a labor relations specialist for PepsiCo, Inc., and with the New York City Transit Authority as a litigation attorney. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Association of Corporate Counsel. He received his J.D. from St. John’s University Law School, his B.A. from St. Francis College, and an LL.M. in Labor Law from New York University.
